Employee of the Month: Jorge Vigoa

The Department choose for Employee of the Month for the month of January.

Jorge Vigoa has been employed with THA for almost 4 years as a Support Specialist. Jorge started as a support specialist for

Special Programs, including FSS, Homeownership and VASH. Jorge is bilingual and assists13 Housing Specialists with a

current concentration on the VASH team. His duties include monitoring annual recertifications in Rent Café', sending and

following up on additional information letters and downloading annual recertifications from site manager to File Vision.

Moreover, outside of his regular duties, Jorge is always eager to jump in and help where the need is. He has worked the

customer service area when we are short staffed, and he often jumps in and helps the recertification support team addressing

the landlord request for annual rent increases. We currently receive hundreds of requests daily and this task entails running

comparable' s to ensure what the landlord is asking for is rent reasonable. This is an ongoing task that he has taken on outside

of his regular duties.

Additionally, Jorge works closely with the VASH recertification team. He is instrumental in setting up and ensuring the

paperwork is ready for the briefing/client orientation. He is always ready to assists the veterans signing in and or helping them

submit the required documents. Jorge enters information in Clarity, which is the homeless data base through the Homeless

Coalition. Jorge has entered and corrected data for over 1000 records for the VASH Program.

Jorge is proficient in all aspects of his role as a support specialist. He has an excellent work ethic, a willingness to help others

and his work shows that he pays attention to detail. It is an honor to have him as an employee and I would like to recognize him

as the Employee of the month.
